How we helped Mike access his garden with ITV’s Love Your Home and Garden.

Anne and Mike have been married for 54 years.  For nearly a decade Mike has suffered from dementia.  This progressive illness is increasingly reducing Mikes ability to maintain his independence.

Mike finds the current access to the garden, which is a metre lower than their home, impossible to cope with.  This has made relaxing outdoors a thing of the past. Upon hearing Mikes story, Terry Lifts teamed up with “Love Your Home and Garden” and volunteered to help out.  We donated one of our popular Melody 3 domestic and public access mobility lifts, plus our experienced engineers to install it.

Neil, Terry Lifts head engineer said, “We spent two days installing the lift.  It is a very adaptable lift and fitted in perfectly. It is ideal for Mike and Anne now, but also big enough, if there is need for a wheelchair in the future”.

ITV’s “Love Your Home and Garden” presented by Alan Titchmarsh recognises inspirational people, such as Mike and Anne, who have found themselves struggling with disabilities or serious health issues.  They gave them a surprise make-over that will massively improve the quality of their lives and make living with Mike’s disability easier. We are pleased to have had the opportunity to assist. It has been a pleasure to donate the Melody 3 mobility lift to such a lovely couple.

The team on “Love Your Home & Garden” definitely did an incredible job and we hope that Anne and Mike use the lift every day to enjoy their new garden!
