About the role

A vacancy for an experienced Homelift / Platform Installation, S&R Engineer has become
available to support our ever increasing order book. Although the successful candidate
needs to reside in Cheshire, the role includes Installing and Maintaining our range of home
and platform lifts throughout the country, primarily within 2 hours of our head office in
Knutsford, Cheshire.

Most important is an open-mindedness, willingness to provide colleagues with the highest
levels of support and a genuine desire to assist a successful team in achieving an ever-
increasing demand for its products.

On-going support will be provided to ensure you maintain your skills base and always deliver
to the company’s high standards.

Your trusted responsibilities

  • To work away from home as requested to meet the needs of the business, occasionally at short notice
  • The Installation, service and repair the company’s products in a safe and competent Manner
  • Installation Engineers will be included in the out of hours call out rota, which includes out of hours support and attendance as required during evenings, weekend and bank holidays.
  • Ensure adequate precautions are taken and maintained to safeguard the customer, jobholder, other employees, and the public from any hazards connected with his work
  • Complete all paperwork required by the company in an accurate & timely manner
  • Carry out additional functions as requested by management
  • Carry out weekly maintenance checks of the company vehicles and report any defects as necessary
  • To keep the work areas clean and tidy at all times
  • Maintain the vehicle stocks to ensure we retain the necessary equipment to complete
  • all installations on time
  • Comply with all company policies & procedures, with particular reference to all Health & Safety policies.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the role:

  • Experience installing home lifts and / or non-enclosed platform lifts
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools in a safe manner
  • Ability to use electrical test equipment
  • An understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace
  • A methodical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to deal with customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to overcome site problems and negotiate with builders on site
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of general building practices
  • NVQ Level 2 in Platform Lifts is desirable
  • CSCS card is desirable
