Apprenticeships

Embracing Emerging Talent

We started our apprenticeship programme more than 10 years’ ago, in that time we have had many success stories, from award winners to those joining us full-time, and rising to managerial positions.

We offer apprenticeships in a variety of areas including mechanical engineering; business; finance and operations.  With industry-wide recognised qualifications such as a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering or a NVQ in Finance – which is an excellent foundation for progressing to the AAT accounting qualifications.

We are proud to partner with local education providers – Macclesfield College and Warrington and Vale Royal College.  Distance learning is also available for certain apprenticeship courses.

We continually look at ways of adapting training and development processes to grow talent and develop a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce.

We are always open to harnessing enthusiastic and emerging talent so please contact us if you wish to find out more about our apprenticeship programme.

What's Involved?

Every Terry Lifts apprenticeship course is different.  Some last 12 months others may take three years.  Typically they lead to a Level 3 qualification.

However, every course offers you:

A real job with hands-on experience

Personal training and development

Opportunity to gain an industry-wide recognised qualification

Insight into an established multi-million pound business

The opportunity to join us full-time if you are successful

Meet Anthony White - Our Maintenance & Operations Engineering Apprentice

I’ve always had an interest in both electrical and mechanical engineering and becoming an apprentice has given me the opportunity to expand this interest and gain a skill within a well-established business.

I enjoy the technical aspects of both my apprenticeship and role, and the sense of achievement and pride I get from completing tasks.  I’m also enjoying spending time in the design department which is giving me a chance to develop my skills in a different environment.

I am particularly proud that, under the guidance of the design department, I designed and built a new test box for one of the wiring looms we produce in the electrical department to improve the test process. This project has made me feel like I have added something positive to the business.

Apprentice of the Year Winner

One of the highlights of our apprenticeship programme was Anthony winning Maintenance & Operations Engineering Apprentice of the Year.
