Thinking about how your home can meet your needs, now and in the future?

Perhaps life is busy and you could do with a helping hand – carrying the hoover, laundry or shopping up the stairs? Or, maybe you just want to add a touch of luxury to your home – for comfort and convenience?

The Terry Lifestyle lift is designed to enhance your lifestyle and your home, offering freedom and flexibility.

We understand how precious space is in your home.  That’s why the Lifestyle Lift features a small footprint, taking no more space than an arm chair. You will have the freedom to place the lift almost anywhere in your house!

Design-wise, there’s plenty of choice to be had.  The lift can easily be customised with your choice of colours, door options, glazing units, LED lighting and a selection of floor coverings to match your home’s existing decor perfectly.

Your lift, your home, your style

The Lifestyle home lift is a stylish yet practical solution for modern, independent living.  Whether standing or sat on the fold-down seat, the Lifestyle home lift can make life so much easier, now and in the future.

Alongside those customers who have an immediate requirement for a lift, there are others who may be looking to future-proof their home during a self-build or renovation.  If that’s you, you’ll be well-placed to accommodate a lift – either to install now or ensure that your floorplan can accommodate one at a later date.  We’d be happy to chat through any plans and we can even send you a copy of the Lifestyle footprint, to scale – just ask our customer service representative.

Terry Lifts will take care of everything for you. We will be with you every step of the way to guide you through your purchase, manage the installation and offer after sales support.

And better still, the lift is typically fitted in just two days!

FAQs

At the upper level, can I walk on the sealed floor when the Lifestyle lift is down?

Yes.  The sealed trapdoor of our Lifestyle lift has a load capacity of 250kg or 39 stone.  Should the lift be travelling up when you step on/are standing on the trapdoor the lift will detect the load and will immediately stop.

Can the speed of the Lifestyle lift be altered?

The speed of our through floor lifts, including the Lifestyle lift is regulated by the latest Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.  Currently, the maximum speed for many of our lifts is 0.15m/s.

Do I need to get planning permission to get a Lifestyle lift installed?

No, however, Building Control approval is required as you are altering the structural integrity of your floor when you have an aperture cut in the floor for your lift. We will always double joist the floor (if a traditional wooden floor) when forming the aperture. This is the only way to ensure that the original structural integrity of your floor is maintained. We will arrange for the local Building Control to come along and approve the work carried out.

How much does the Lifestyle lift cost?

The Lifestyle lift price depends on several factors, including where you are located, the specification of the lift and the degree of preparation works required. This is why we offer a free survey of your home so you can obtain a personalised quote. A Lifestyle home lift should be seen as an investment that can have a tremendous impact on the quality of your life and add value to your property.

How much space is required for the Lifestyle lift?

The Lifestyle Lift requires very little space indeed and can be installed neatly in the corner of a room or close up to a wall. Contact us to request a hard copy of the Lifestyle footprint.

Is the Lifestyle lift safe in the event of a fire?

All our through floor lifts, including the Lifestyle lift are fire and smoke test certificated by global testing, inspection and certification company, Warringtonfire, and comply with BS 5900:2012, in relation to through floor lifts.  This covers the lifts in both the lower and upper position.

What are the structural implications when installing a Lifestyle Lift?

The Lifestyle Lift does not require load bearing walls to fix to. In fact, we do not require fixing to a wall at all. We fix to the floor base, to the aperture ring and the ceiling on the first floor. This is not only aesthetically pleasing; it also alleviates the need to fix to a party wall which may back onto a next door neighbour.

What happens if there is a power cut while I am using the Lifestyle lift?

If there is a power cut at your property, the battery backup will maintain operational control of the lift to lower your lift to the ground floor. If all else fails, the manual lowering system can be operated with assistance from outside the lift to enable you to travel to the ground floor. In addition, we provide a telephone inside the lift (selected models only).  The telephone will require a connection to your incoming telephone landline.

How do the lift controls work?

The Lifestyle lift has simple to use one-touch call and send buttons, similar to that of a conventional passenger lift. The landing call stations are wireless and operate the same way as the cabin control. The absence of hard wiring and trunking on your walls makes for a neat, unobtrusive finish.

What power supply is required?

To comply with legislation all permanent lifting equipment must be permanently connected to a dedicated domestic power supply.  Please refer to the Technical Specifications for individual products for more details.
