At Terry Lifts, we’re driven by a shared commitment to making a difference, and for Chris Hay, our Global Business Development Manager, it’s the opportunity to help people regain their independence and improve their quality of life that makes his role so rewarding. Read a bit more about him below…
What is your job title and how long have you been at Terry Lifts?
Global Business Development Manager. I have been at Terry Lifts for 3 years, I did previously work here for 5 years, with the gap in between I was only selling the Terry range of products.
Terry Lifts is all about being “the one to trust” How does that value shine through in your role?
We will only install products that 100% meet the customer’s needs and fully comply with any current legislation, we don’t cut corners and are open and honest with all of our customers, dealers and end users. Our history, safety record and reliable products are trusted around the world.
Tell us something unique about the Terry Lifts team culture?
We have a very close-knit sales team that have over 75 years (probably more) of industry experience between the 5 of us, we all help each other out whatever is needed, with whatever side of the business, and being “the one to trust” means we can all sleep well at night reassured we are making a difference in the world. The best thing for me is the support I get from the team around me, we all enjoy watching each other succeed in our areas of the business and I genuinely feel I could call on any of them and they would be happy to help me as I would them. They are the first to congratulate any achievements and we all work towards the same goal, to change as many lives as possible.
What has been the most rewarding aspect of your role at Terry Lifts?
For me, it is knowing that every single product we install will reduce the pain and suffering for a family or a person somewhere, that someone might be struggling to get in and out of their property, or between floors in their home or workplace, knowing I have done my bit in helping someone is the most rewarding aspect of my role within the company.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing – any hobbies or interests?
Outside of work my hobbies are Carp fishing and spending time with my family, I am currently teaching both of my boys to drive, although I am not sure why I have put this in the things I enjoy doing as this can be quite stressful at the time, however I do enjoy when we are back safely on the drive!
