Meet Gavin, one of our Assembly Operators, whose work helps ensure every Terry Lift is built to the highest standards of safety and reliability.
What is your job title and how long have you been at Terry Lifts?
I am an Assembly Operator, and I have been working at Terry Lifts for 3 years.
Terry Lifts is all about being “the one to trust”. How does that value shine through in your role?
I take great pride in the slings* which I build on a day-to-day basis and make sure each one is built to the highest quality standards and tested thoroughly before I allow it to be used in a lift. Terry Lifts values safety, quality and reliability, which I like to make sure I meet so that we can provide a quality lift to each one of our customers.
*The sling component is one of the most important parts of a home lift. It acts as the lift’s main support frame, helping everything stay secure, stable and working smoothly.
Positioned between the lift’s guide rails, the sling holds key parts of the lift in place and supports the lift car itself. As the lift moves, it uses specially designed rollers and pads to travel smoothly up and down, keeping the lift level and steady at all times, no matter who or what is inside.
In simple terms, it’s what helps the lift move safely, quietly and reliably every time it’s used.
Tell us something unique about the Terry Lifts team culture
The team culture at Terry Lifts is brilliant, the people who I work with every day are supportive and welcoming which creates a great work environment and that we all have the same thing in mind which is to build and provide great quality and reliable products for the people who need them.
What has been your most rewarding aspect of your role at Terry Lifts?
The most rewarding aspect for me is knowing that one of the products which I built has been used to create a lift for someone who needs it to live their daily lives without struggle.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy doing – any hobbies or interests?
In my free time, I like to go on long walks or hike up mountains and occasionally work on cards or do DIY projects. If I’m not doing that, I like to spend time with my family and play games on my Xbox or PC.
