Your trusted responsibilities:
Are you curious about how things work? Do you enjoy problem solving and working with your hands? If so, this could be the ideal start to your career.
- Train as a field based mechanical and electrical engineer in the Home and Platform Lift Industry with the aim of completing the apprenticeship programme and a minimum NVQ level 2 in Platform Lift Installation, Service and Repair
- Attend South Cheshire College as part of the recognised apprenticeship programme, 2 days a week for the duration of the course (MOET – Mechanical Operations, Engineering Technician)
- To work alongside the Installation teams in all aspects of the Installation, Preparatory works, Service and Repair of Home Lifts / Platform Lifts and Inclined Stairlifts
- To learn and develop a variety of electrical and mechanical skills which will be necessary to progress within the Installation, Service and Repair role
- To work in all areas of the business to gain an understanding of the processes and varying tasks required to design, produce and install the equipment
Essential Skills Base:
- GSCE’s in English and Maths (Grade 4 or above)
- Have a willingness and a passion to learn new skills
- Time keeping is vital due to varying start times
- Good communication skills – Building good relationships is fundamental to the delivery of services in the industry
- Organisational Skills – Managing your workload, specifically any required course deadlines
- Teamwork – The ability to work as part of a team, be flexible and to contribute as required
On-going support will be provided to ensure you maintain your skills base and always deliver to the company’s high standards.
Core responsibilities of the role:
- To assist in the Installation, service and repair of the company’s products in a safe and competent manner
- Throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, keep accurate records and supporting evidence of tasks completed
- Successfully complete college assignments throughout the training period, achieving the required grades and skills to ensure the necessary progression is achieved
- Ensure adequate precautions are taken and maintained to safeguard the customer, jobholder, other employees and the public from any hazards connected with his work.
- Complete all paperwork required by the company in an accurate & timely manner
- Maintain a smart appearance and to act in a professional manner at all times whether at college, the factory or on site
- Carry out other duties appropriate to the grade and role as requested by management
- To maintain clean and tidy work areas at all times
- Comply with all TGL policies & procedures, with particular reference to all Health & Safety policies. All TGL Policies & Procedures are available on SharePoint
