CAD Technician (Knutsford-based) Ref. TGJOB026

Family-owned lift manufacturer Terry Group Ltd, trading as Terry Lifts, requires a CAD technician to join its busy and diverse team.  3D CAD modelling and drawing experience essential.  IT literate.  Good communication skills.  Essential and desirable experience.  Based in Knutsford.  Full product training given.  39 hours. 

The Role 

The role will include assisting with new projects and the ongoing development of current products. The successful candidate will contribute to our success by working not only on their own initiative, but also by working with other departments in the business, our suppliers and customers. 

Most important is an open mindedness and willingness to provide colleagues with the highest levels of support and a genuine desire to assist a successful team in achieving an ever increasing demand for its products. You will enjoy working within a challenging environment.

Applicants require the following:

Essential Skills and Experience includes: 

  • 3D CAD modelling and drawing experience. (CREO or SolidWorks preferred)
  • Well motivated and creative.
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT Literate, including competence with Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience includes:

  • Experience in Manufacturing Engineering
  • Hands on experience with machining, welding, carpentry or mechanical assembly would be beneficial

The Role:

  • Using PTC CREO 8 3D CAD package to model new parts and modify existing parts
  • Creating technical drawings for both new and existing parts
  • Creation of CAD based technical documentation
  • Contributing to design meetings
  • Progressing projects for new parts and assemblies from a conceptual design through into production
  • Responsibility for the creation of new bills of materials and the manipulation of existing bills
