Skilled Fitter – R&D (Knutsford-based) Ref. TGJOB016

Terry Lifts is a successful lift manufacturer and installation company based in Knutsford, Cheshire.  We currently have a vacancy for a time-served skilled fitter at our Knutsford factory.

Essential Experience

• Welding, jig building and fabrication work
• Ability to work from technical drawings
• Mechanical / fabricating / assembly skills
• Turning & milling skills
• Must be able to work to tight demanding timescales
• Able to work in safe manner in line with the company’s Health & Safety policies

Desirable Experience

• Experience of working on engines / motor vehicles beneficial
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems
• Ability to work from wiring diagrams

The job involves working closely with the engineering team to:

• Manufacture, build and test prototype parts, assemblies and mechanisms
• Build and test prototype lifts and systems
• Make or improve jigs and fixtures for assembly
• Maintenance of plant, equipment and infrastructure

Working Hours:

• 39 hours total –
• Monday – Thursday: 8AM – 5PM
• Friday: 8AM – 1PM
